Anyone else miss Hayato as much as me? I really felt his absence in Marvel Vs Capcom 3. Since his games haven't really proved all that popular over the years, with no remakes, or anything, I doubt we will see much more of him in the future. Marvel Vs Capcom 3 was kinda my last hope of seeing Capcoms Jedi again. Oh well...my lament felt like this would be a good time to post the wonderful art Mirri did of him in 09! :D At least he can live on in fan art.
This was my reaction then:
Hyato is another Capcom Character that just doesn't get enough attention! One of my favorites characters, he's a real Japanese Jedi!
Mirri he is UBER cute! I do love those gently eyes and that face so cute cute cute!!:heart: I'm melting!!! It's so gorgeous! Mirri this looks like a cell from an anime! That background rocks!!!!! Totally fitting!! This is some of your best work ever. It's just so darn cute and hot!!!
Who told you I am crazy about seeing foreskin pushed over an erect head? XD
:heart::heart::heart::heart:
Thanks so much! It's great to be commissioning you once again!
Some official art of him:
Speaking of missing spacemen, another characters long absence has been irking me for some time. That would be the big boss alien Tatanga in the last 2 Mario Galaxy games. I don't know how Nintendo can make 2 games set in space and ignore a main antagonist like this.
You would think the character would warrant a little more respect. You see, the sales for Mario Land are actually slightly greater then Mario 3, according to wikipedia anyway. So why is it they would leave him out of not one, but both games? It bugged me during part one, but when part 2 still found him missing, I was very disappointed. Seems to me like there is more internal crap going on then Nintendo would like us to know. After all his creator was fired from the company and died soon after in 1997. Could it be the great sales and popularity of Mario Land has left a very bad taste in the mouth of Marios creator? When I read about how his employees have to sneak entertaining aspects into games with out him knowing I start to wonder.
Anyway all this thinking about space and aliens got me looking for something that I had not seen since I was a child in the 80s. I was filled with a little bit of childhood fear and wonder when I gazed upon them again for the first time in over 20 years. I wanted to share with you guys. When I was very young, I got this puzzle from an unknown source. Depicted on it was a WWII battleship being buzzed by UFOs. The side panel held a description of the events with a time and date. It all seemed very real and creepy in my young mind. What child would question the sincerity of army personnel?
Whitman released about 4 of these puzzles. Ah the good old days of 'In Search Of' and the like eh? XD Aliens, bigfoots and sea monsters were popular topic for kids to read about back then. This puzzle was kept in my basement, at the bottom of the stairs in a storage closet. That fact just added to it's mystic and creepiness. I will admit that last night the images once again filled my head with strange dreams. XD

Conan Embraces Dungeons and Dragons By Huulli
I'm on a blog roll today. Don't you just feel so good when you have time to waste and you put it to good use? XD Crassus has the barbarian eagerly awaiting his advance laying on his back. Conans got this sexy crazed look in his eyes. Even his hair seems to be gravitating to the Crass. He's gonna make a move really quick if the Fighter does in the next couple of seconds. XD The image is really spectacular. Huulli got the foreskins on their big thick dicks just they way I wanted. Those things are JUICE-EEE! Of all the great features, the big sex chest on Conan, the smooth bodies, the sexy butt on Crassus, if I had to pick my favorite, it would be Crassus Face. Huulli did an amazing job on it. It's tilted ever so sweetly. The big luscious lips, beautiful eyes, nice thick eyebrows and that wonderful hair. He's quite a handsome man. Thanks Huulli!

The Resident Evil 4 Game & Watch
I recently fond this cute little online only Game and Watch call Chainsaw Maniac. It was made to promote the game and the chiansaw controller released for the PS2. The chainsaw maniacs have never looked so cute. Play as Leon and stab them as they come rushing at you from out of the woods. Make sure to keep an eye on your knives and refill your stock in the cabins before they get too close!
You can play the game here:

Recommended Play: JR To The Rescue
While I will give Nintendo credit for making many of their classic Game and Watches available on their modern handhelds, I always felt like they could do more. I've heard it said time and again from friends that in a day and age when simple fun games have become a huge draw on systems like the ipad why the hell doesn't Nintendo do some sort of spiffed up re-release of their classic Game and Watches? True on the Gallery games we got 'modern' modes. Yet, these often bastardized the originals by forcefully inserting characters such as Goombas and Bullet Bills in to replace the classic Snap Jaws and Nitpickers. The worst offense of all to me was Princess Toadstool always being used to replace Pauline. The bitch felt like she wanted to erase her from existence. :P Just kidding. Really though, It always felt so insulting to the classics. It's like Nintendo feels embarrassed of their original creations. Maybe it's due to some sort of internal rivalry that still exists in the mind of Myomoto regarding series creator Yokoi.
It's stuff like this, along with the fact that Nintendo has never made the arcade perfect versions of their biggest classics like Donkey Kong, Mario Bros and Popeye available to players that has always baffled me. I mean, we got emulation, but Nintendo stands to make a decent buck by offering these over the NES ports. Nintendo seems to have a lot of internal grudges if you ask me. XD Anyway after the DSI wares release of the same old Donkey Kong JR Game and Watch it looks like someone did take note that there is a missed opportunity here.
And so incomes Divernova Games with JR To The Rescue. A game that uses graphics inspired by the Mario Vs Donkey Kong series and any number of ipad games to create a very fun new take on an almost 30 year old classic. The graphics are sharp, with all the characters looking a bit like puppets. The little music score included is pretty brilliant for the modern mode and the game even features an extended ending animation. There are options to fiddle with the sound effects and even play the game in a black and white mode that kinda resembles the original game a bit more.
The word kinda can be used to describe a lot of aspects of this game. It kinda plays like the original, but it doesn't. Jumping for the key requires you to push up. The controls are kinda loose. The vine jumps at the start and far right of the screen no longer land you points for falling over a Snap Jaw. The fruit kinda works the same, but is now faster. So the clock work rhythm is kinda off. The scoring is also a bit off. JR no longer gets 9 points for taking out Snap Jaws on the lower level. That's a shame. As well, he doesn't always clear out the right amount of enemies when he lands back at start. This can result in some cheap deaths. And Jr kinda has most of the personality found in the original game.
Now I realize the makers wanted to have the game to have a certain look, but JR just isn't as charismatic as he was back when he was hand drawn. This is something 2D seems to always have over 3D sprites. Game and Watches feature some of the most beautifully drawn sprites of their day. They still stand the test of time today. This game does too have it's charms, but whereas JR seemed to have a little more brains and cunning in the original, his looks echo more of a simple minded ape in this version. The new take on JR in the early 80s drew many fans to the game alone. He had lost his clothes and gained Pac-Man eyes. But, hey, the same can be said of this version. I found this game by doing a google image search and instantly clicked the fascinating picture depicting the play field. Cosmetic changes draw us in and offer us something new and exciting to look at. That's what game design should be all about. Nintendo was all about this in the 80's. We were constantly getting new takes on the characters. It still happens today from time to time as well. Sadly I think it's Something Nintendo themselves forget about, especially when they over use their generic Mario 3D sprite in print and game media. At least this JR doesn't run along the same lines of Mr. Game & Watch who has been said on sydlexia.com, to be an insult to everything the Game and Watch team tried to create.
"Mr. Game & Watch's design is somewhat of an affront to the spirit of the Game & Watch series. Whereas Mr. Game & Watch is exceedingly generic and nondescript in his design, most Game & Watch protagonists were anything but. Series creator Gunpei Yokoi and his team worked very hard to give each title unique graphics and make each character as distinct as possible despite the limitations of the hardware. The characters in Game & Watch games have distinguishing eyes, mouths, noses, even ears sometimes. The only characters that look anything like Mr. Game & Watch are the NPCs you rescue in Parachute and Fire. It is no small tragedy that Nintendo has paid tribute to its successful handheld franchise by turning the series' most generic sprite into its public face. Nintendo should be ashamed of themselves for doing this. I know I am."
All that said, I do recommend the game. It's free and even if it wasn't, as a Game and Watch fan I could see myself dishing out a couple bucks to play it. It's not perfect, but I can only hope we will get more that is, if we support it. You can download it from the creators site for free here:

These screens are from the Donkey Kong II Game and Watch, but the same character model is used. Note that JR did the peace, or victory sign long before Mario did. XD
As you can see there was a ton of personality here. As a young gamer I fell in love with the little simians charms. Donkey Kong Jr Looks like an old 1920's Cartoon character in the original Game and Watch. This art style was applied to most games characters of the series. I think this was a very smart tactic that really drew in a lot of players young and old to the series.
A rare image from a guide for Donkey Kong 94. It seems to retain a very classic cartoon feel to the characters. Something Nintendo no longer seems to promote.
Nintendo was all about changing it up back in the day, like with this eye grabbing take on King Koopa and the beaked Troopas. (Based I am sure on the game sprites look.)

Double Chocolate Centaur Treat This Easter Thanks to Caravaggia and Me!
Happy Easter everyone! I hope the Easter Bunny was good to you all. What better day to spring this chocolate delight, huh? The guy on the ground is my new OC Seb. The lucky stiff fulfilling an ultimate dream. He's just met a horny and friendly Zebra centaur!
Seb is from an African like continent in Vanns world. He belongs to a tribe that worships the Zebra, especially uni-zebras as evident from his outfit. He's a trader and excellent tracker. He's tracked his way right into the embrace of this amazing specimen created by Caravaggia. :D
This Centaur is the leader of his tribe, free spirited, proud and free. He is perfect for worship of a certain kind. The zebra is Caravaggia at her best. He's a yummy mixed of dark, white and creamy milk chocolate. (Okay enough candy puns.) But really I hope you will find that he is a beautiful mouth watering specimen.
I was happy to hear how enthused Caravaggia was in helping me create him. It seems we share a common love of Mohawks and zebras. XD She worked really hard and it shows. She even engulfed him in a lite, yet radiant glow from an African sun set. (Or as she puts it, a Lion King sunset. :P) It was fun to come up with a Zebra centaur. While the design and concept was fun for both Caravaggia and I, naming him has proved difficult for me. Any suggestions? I do like the name Achimi, or Machimi. I am still not sure if will remain uncut as well. I do love his dark foreskin, but a cut centaur would be fun as well.
Here is my original sketch of Seb. Check out Caravaggias blog for a making of segment!

Unforgettable Tarzan Covers
I have to pimp out the site Golden Age Comic Book Stories today. Earlier this month they did a post that really hit home with me. In said post they put up the novel covers for the Tarzan re-releases that came out in the late 70s. I discovered in the early 1980s. They came in gift form from my brother to my father over many Christmas and birthdays. Over the years the ownership of them fell to me. The images on the books opened my eyes to how diverse, sexy and magical the world of Tarzan really was. Before that my vision of him was mostly sculpted by the Greystoke movie and various cartoons. Back then, I was amazed to see him fighting dinosaurs, sea monsters and even Roman style warriors. There are few images I can recall that really sticking with me and influencing through out my life as much as these covers did.
These were windows into dark prehistoric worlds, filled with deep jungles, unknown dangers, grand adventures and sexy warriors. They Embodied the very essence of what I am sure Burroughs envisioned Tarzans world to be in his mind. If anything, they were like looking at a living pictures of a 1930's Lost Word all contained within the images boarders. I would sit in my parents room during a storm and just flip through the images and come up with stories.
Of course images as intense as these were only found on the covers themselves. I couldn't find stuff like this on TV, or in any of the comics I could find at the time. Still, that was still more then enough to transport my mind into this raw world of early 20th century adventure and romance, without even reading a page. (Which I of course did as I got older.)
Here are some of my favorite covers from the series, to check them all out follow the link below. :D The blog is really amazing and I recommend taking some time to explore it all.

Even at a young age I recognized some very homoerotic undertones in this pictures. Something that begs exploring I think.
I love how this images setting is feels closed in by the background. It's like this little preserved capsule from the dawn of time. The light gently flowing from the middle top, the waterfall, the color tones, all just so captivating. When I was a kid I thought the deer was an animal akin to the dawn horse.

Had To Have it: Steaming Conan Figure
I found this friggen yummy Conan figure set dubbed Legendary Comic Book Heroes - CONAN & WRARRL online yesterday. Gosh that Conan is so hot! I never saw this set, released in 2007 in any stores, or cons. I went to E-Bay and while you could find the two pack itself for a fair price, the shipping was always astronomical. ($30-$20 is just way too much!) I found Conan brand new and alone and snagged him for $12 with only $4 for shipping! Woo! He will be taking up residence on my desk along with Jungle Emmy and Menace. I will be sure to take pics. :P I don't think the one I got comes with the Axe. I will keep my eyes peeled for the two pack in local comic shops. Till then I will be very happy just having this figure of Marvels Conan!
Oh well, that's one neat thing about old toys, you do get to see different varations of your favs, you wouldn't see today. Let's end this with more of the good figure.
Check out the 1970's figure! YIKES! Conans got a ghastly fro!!!! You see this advertised all over the old comics. :(
Why do I hear Selma from the Simpsons saying, "I've got three words for you, Mary Tyler Moore?" No wonder he is so angry.
Oh Look how perfect he is on the back of the box! This was the image that was found in the comics as well. There was no way they were showing off what the doll actually looked like! XD
