Last month I bid on a really nice Fantasia plate that was made back in 1990. I did so due to the lack of anything decent Fantasia themed at Disney itself. The plate was really cheap, only about $10, if that. It's not huge, but the picture is really nice. I don't think it's rare either. It should pop up on E-Bay from time to time if you want one.
In case you're wondering, yes I have thought about doing something porny with centaurs of Fantasia. I have tried to do something a few times, but nothing has come of it as yet. Maybe one day.
GIMME DAT PLATE!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have no idea. When I was little my mother took me to see Fantasia when they re-issued it to play in theaters (I had no idea about that at the time. I just thought it was a movie I'd never heard of. Oddly enough I saw Fantasia and Bambi as reissues in the SAME movie theater, haha)
ANYWHO- yeah, saw the film and it TOTALLY made me rethink my relationship with music and that change lasted until this day.
Before I thought of music as music and not as a source of artistic inspiration of LIFE (preceding that it was all "nice sounds") and I was turned onto Classical music at that moment as well.
And the Greek myths portion...omg, blew my little mind. I'd never SEEN a centaur before. Never SEEN any representation of a greek god or goddess (At least not in a way that I could process what I was seeing as something other than an assemblage/ensemble a la the old "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" cartoon)
Sigh, nostalgia
